Ruby Storm wins by chaining cheap rituals like Desperate Ritual, Pyretic Ritual, and Manamorphose into a Grapeshot or Past in Flames kill, so Trinisphere is devastating, taxing every one- and two-mana ritual and cantrip up to three mana and making their whole plan fall apart on mana. Grafdigger's Cage also stops them from casting spells from the graveyard, so Past in Flames and Flashback can hand out flashback but nothing can actually be cast with it. Blade of the Bloodchief does little against a deck whose only real creature is Ral, Monsoon Mage, and Vexing Bauble rarely does anything because their spells are cast by paying mana, so those come out for the proactive taxing effects. Haywire Mite stays in as a modest answer to Ruby Medallion and Artist's Talent, and Soul-Guide Lantern stays in as graveyard hate that can exile cards Past in Flames and Flashback want to use.
