Goryo's Vengeance wants to reanimate Griselbrand or Atraxa via Goryo's Vengeance for a hasty attack, so Thoughtseize is excellent at stripping their reanimation target or the Goryo's Vengeance itself before they can combo off. Surgical Extraction can strip a copy of Griselbrand or Atraxa from their deck once one hits a graveyard, denying them a second attempt. Their deck also runs Solitude and Force of Negation as free interaction, so proactive discard beats trying to out-grind their card advantage engines. Haywire Mite and Sylvan Safekeeper are cut since they don't interact with their core reanimation plan.
