Grixis Reanimator aims to dump Archon of Cruelty or Abhorrent Oculus into the graveyard via Faithless Looting and Thought Scour, then return them with Persist or Unearth — Orcish Bowmasters punishes every draw trigger from Looting and Scour while generating roadblocking tokens against Psychic Frog. Flash in Endurance in response to Persist or Unearth to shuffle their graveyard away and deny the reanimate entirely; Dauthi Voidwalker provides ongoing exile as cards are discarded or milled, making future reanimation attempts increasingly difficult. Thoughtseize lets you see their hand and strip a key reanimation enabler or Thoughtseize of their own before you go off, and is especially important on the play to preempt their disruption. Force of Vigor comes in specifically to answer their sideboard artifacts — Damping Sphere slows your combo mana significantly and Vexing Bauble taxes your free interactions, and you can pitch a green card to cast Force of Vigor for free at instant speed. Drannith Magistrate, Haywire Mite, Witherbloom Charm, and Scout for Survivors are the weakest cards in this matchup since Magistrate does not stop their reanimation triggers and the others lack impactful targets.
