Living End aims to cascade into Living End via Violent Outburst or Shardless Agent after cycling a graveyard full of large flyers, sweeping our board and reanimating their threats. Drannith Magistrate is our hardest lock — it prevents opponents from casting spells from anywhere other than their hand, which stops Living End from being cast out of exile via cascade entirely. Lavinia, Azorius Renegade provides a redundant soft-counter, automatically countering any spell cast without mana being spent (i.e., Living End off cascade). Flash in Endurance at instant speed in response to Living End resolving on the stack to exile their entire graveyard and blank the spell; Thoughtseize comes in to strip Force of Negation before we commit our hate pieces to the battlefield. Post-board they bring in Damping Matrix to shut off our activated sacrifice outlets like Carrion Feeder and Viscera Seer, so Force of Vigor answers that cleanly while also threatening their occasional Foundation Breaker mirror.
