Consign to Memory is highly relevant here: Living End has no mana cost and no color indicator, making it a colorless spell, so Consign to Memory can counter the spell itself, in addition to cascade triggers from Violent Outburst or Shardless Agent, since those are triggered abilities regardless of the source's color. Note that replicate cannot be used to counter both the cascade trigger and the resulting spell, because all targets must be chosen when Consign to Memory is cast, and the cascaded card is cast during the resolution of the cascade trigger, so they are never on the stack at the same time. Thoughtseize proactively strips their Living End, Force of Negation, or Violent Outburst before it can be cast, which is another strong way to disrupt the combo since we have limited ways to interact with the graveyard directly. Erayo and Basim are too slow and fragile against a deck that can wipe the board with Living End and rebuild with a full graveyard, so we prioritize proactive disruption and Consign to Memory instead. Keep in mind Consign to Memory is one of our best tools against the combo, able to counter cascade triggers and Living End, while Thoughtseize remains our primary proactive answer.
