This combo deck wins through Basking Broodscale plus Blade of the Bloodchief; Basking Broodscale is devoid (colorless), so Consign to Memory counters it outright and also catches the deck's many triggered abilities. Wear // Tear's artifact half kills Blade of the Bloodchief or an opposing Vexing Bauble, denying the piece that powers the infinite loop, while our own Vexing Bauble is a cheap artifact that counters any spell cast without mana and can be sacrificed later to draw a card. Stubborn Denial is weak since Basking Broodscale is a creature spell it can't hit and the key combo pieces don't care about counters once the loop starts, and Lightning Bolt can kill a 2/2 Broodscale or Glaring Fleshraker but only one body at a time while the deck keeps making Eldrazi Spawn tokens, so both are cut for proactive hate that interacts with the real combo.
