Mono Red Madness is a pure race: they have no blue spells (Sneaky Snacker never gets cast) so Pyroblast and Red Elemental Blast are dead, and their madness cards are exiled rather than discarded to the graveyard so Faerie Macabre does nothing relevant. Flaring Pain's main-phase use is minor, but its real value here is stopping their life-loss prevention plans from mattering less than our own racing math — more importantly, bring in Lifelink to stack extra life gain onto an evasive hexproof creature alongside Armadillo Cloak, buying crucial turns against their burn clock. Cut the slower, more situational Cartouche of Solidarity and Sentinel's Eyes since this matchup is about resolving threats and gaining life as fast as possible, not grinding small value. Prioritize mulliganing to hands with turn-one or turn-two hexproof creatures plus any enchantment that gains life.
