Gruul Ramp leans on mana enchantments like Wild Growth and Utopia Sprawl to accelerate into large threats such as Primordial Pachyderm and Avenging Hunter, and Shattered Acolyte can sacrifice itself to destroy one of those acceleration pieces to slow them down. Faithless Looting comes out since card filtering is less valuable than disrupting their ramp before they curve out. Keep your full removal suite (Journey to Nowhere, Thraben Charm) to answer their large creatures, and lean on Prismatic Strands to blank a big combat swing from something like Avenging Hunter or a pumped attacker.
