This mirror-ish matchup is a grind over card advantage and the monarch, so Relic of Progenitus and Nihil Spellbomb come in to strip delve fuel from Gurmag Angler while replacing the one-shot Bojuka Bog. Drown in Sorrow is a strong sweeper here since it cleanly kills their 1/1 fliers from Spellstutter Sprite and Faerie Seer along with Murmuring Mystic's 1/1 Bird tokens, and even the 2/2 Ninja of the Deep Hours and 3/2 Mukotai Ambusher die to it alongside our own small bodies if needed. Extract a Confession is weak against a deck with few high-value permanent threats to force a sacrifice from, and Suffocating Fumes only shrinks creatures by -1/-1 which whiffs on most of their relevant bodies like Gurmag Angler and Okiba-Gang Shinobi. Keep the removal suite and counterspells intact since those are the core tools winning counter wars and answering their Ninjutsu and Spellstutter Sprite tempo plays.
