Mono Red Rally goldfishes fast alpha strikes via Rally at the Hornburg and Goblin Bushwhacker, so Loyal Sentry is a strong trade against any attacker, including the 1/1 Human Soldier tokens, before or after a Rally pump turns the team lethal. Ethereal Haze only fogs damage for a single turn and doesn't address their growing board of artifact creatures, so trimming it for a real blocker is better against a deck that wants to go wide and swing once. Counterspell on Rally at the Hornburg and Skred to kill their small artifact creatures (Clockwork Percussionist, Voldaren Epicure) before they go wide remain the core plan.
