Even if Cleansing Wildfire-style disruption is not present here, Envelop counters Cleansing Wildfire and slows their card flow. Essence Flux, Harrier Strix, and a copy of Saiba Cryptomancer are too passive against a deck that wants to flood the board with cheap value creatures and artifacts. Countering their key enablers early prevents the snowballing card advantage that wins them the game.
