Caw Gates is a grindy, low-to-the-ground white-red deck full of small creatures like Sacred Cat and Sneaky Snacker backed by Journey to Nowhere and Gate-based mana ramp, so Gut Shot is excellent at picking off their 1-toughness creatures for free without spending mana. Dispel has very few good targets since Caw Gates plays mostly non-instant spells, so it comes out in favor of proactive removal. Keep your Counterspell copies to stop Journey to Nowhere or key threats, and lean on your card selection to find answers to their steady stream of small bodies.
