Jeskai Ephemerate is a value/control deck backed by Counterspell, Skred, and an Ephemerate/Archaeomancer blink engine, so Duress can proactively strip their Counterspell or a key Ephemerate before we commit to a critical turn. Faerie Macabre gives us a flying blocker against their flying Mulldrifter and ground-based Augur of Bolas creatures, and its discard-to-exile mode can remove Archaeomancer targets from their graveyard, denying a rebuy on Ephemerate or Skred. We trim Repository Skaab and Architects of Will since their card selection is too slow against a deck already rich in card draw from Preordain and Lorien Revealed, and we need to prioritize resolving our combo pieces through their counterspell suite.
