Grixis Affinity floods the board with artifact creatures, from small ones like Krark-Clan Shaman and Refurbished Familiar to bigger bodies like Utrom Monitor and Myr Enforcer. Cast into the Fire's damage mode kills their 1-toughness creatures (Krark-Clan Shaman and Refurbished Familiar) two at a time, though it won't kill the 3/3 Utrom Monitor or the 4/4 Myr Enforcer on its own. Its exile mode can remove a key artifact like Ichor Wellspring, and since it exiles rather than destroys, it also gets around the indestructible Bridge lands. Thraben Charm's graveyard-exile mode denies recursion value from Blood Fountain, and its damage mode (twice the number of creatures you control) scales up to handle the larger Utrom Monitor and Myr Enforcer once you have a few creatures out. Its enchantment mode can also destroy Makeshift Munitions. Loran's Escape and Bitter Reunion are cut since proactive removal of their artifact engine matters more than protecting one permanent in this fast matchup.
