This is a graveyard-combo mirror-ish matchup where Balustrade Spy self-mill combined with Dread Return's flashback (sacrificing three creatures) tries to reanimate a big threat, so Faerie Macabre's discard-to-exile ability is excellent at stripping Dread Return targets like Troll of Khazad-dum or Lotleth Giant from their graveyard before they can flash it back. Masked Vandal is not brought in because it only exiles target artifact or enchantment an opponent controls, so it cannot target creatures or exile reanimation targets from an opponent's graveyard. Nyxborn Hydra is cut since disrupting their graveyard plan is far more valuable in this specific matchup. Play around Mesmeric Fiend's hand disruption by sequencing your key spells carefully.
