Caw-Gates presents two compounding problems: Guardian of the Guildpact cannot be blocked by any of your monocolored white creatures and its damage cannot be prevented by them either, while Lightning Bolt and Journey to Nowhere threaten to dismantle your aura-stacked threats before they can close the game. Thraben Charm counters targeted spells like Lightning Bolt and Journey to Nowhere that would otherwise strip your enchanted champions at critical moments, making it the single most important tool for keeping your threats alive. Standard Bearer acts as a lightning rod, redirecting targeted removal away from your heroic creatures so they can grow unimpeded and forces your opponent to spend an extra resource before reaching your real threats. Spirit Link and Sacred Cat come out because the lifelink redundancy matters far less when Outlaw Medic, Lunarch Veteran, and Armadillo Cloak ensure your opponent will match or exceed any life gain you generate on the ground. Prioritize building Akroan Skyguard with multiple auras to race in the air, as ground combat is largely unwinnable once Guardian of the Guildpact is online and Prismatic Strands is available to fog your best attacks.
