Dimir Control aims to counter your key auras with Counterspell and Dispel, then clean up your creatures with free Snuff Outs, Cast Down, and Agony Warp before your board becomes lethal — the priority is forcing through one protected threat rather than going wide. Standard Bearer is the key sideboard piece here, as it redirects all of their targeted removal (Snuff Out, Cast Down, Agony Warp) to the Flagbearer first, buying your real threats a full turn of development. Obsidian Acolyte supplements this by giving instant-speed protection from black in response to removal, saving a loaded creature at critical moments. Thraben Charm comes in primarily for its instant-speed token mode at their end step to keep board pressure up, with the artifact destruction mode relevant against Sewer-veillance Cam post-board alongside Nihil Spellbomb and Relic of Progenitus. Spirit Link and Lifelink come out because incremental life gain rarely wins against a deck that can answer threats repeatedly, and Skyward Spider leaves as the weakest non-heroic creature with no relevant role in this matchup.
