UBR is a grindy control-midrange deck with powerful top-end like Atraxa, Grand Unifier, Valgavoth, Terror Eater, and Indomitable Creativity, so Disdainful Stroke counters anything mana value 4 or greater, hitting Fable of the Mirror-Breaker, Indomitable Creativity, and their bombs outright. Duress proactively strips removal or a counterspell like Make Disappear before it disrupts your plan. Faerie Miscreant is weak since it rarely connects for value against their removal-dense list, and Unholy Annex/Ritual Chamber is too slow against their own card advantage engines. Keep Thoughtseize and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, as your best disruption and life-total battle tools in this grindy matchup.
