Mono-Black is a graveyard-recursion aggro-midrange deck (Bloodghast, Stitcher's Supplier, Darklight Phoenix, Haunted Dead), so Unlicensed Hearse is excellent at shutting down their recursive threats permanently while growing into a real body. Duress strips their own Thoughtseize or Annihilating Glare before you commit Sheoldred or Professor Dellian Fel. Withering Curse's -2/-2 cleanly answers Eyetwitch, Stitcher's Supplier, and Priest of Forgotten Gods in one sweep. Trim Sentinel, some Badgermole Cubs, and one Culling Ritual since their low curve limits a Culling Ritual's full value and you want more targeted graveyard disruption instead.
