This mono-Black deck is built around graveyard recursion with Bloodghast, Stitcher's Supplier, Darklight Phoenix, and Haunted Dead, so Soul-Guide Lantern is strong both as early graveyard disruption and as a late sacrifice to wipe their yard and shut off recursive threats. Abrade can kill small early creatures like Eyetwitch or Stitcher's Supplier before they generate value. Get Out and Fading Hope are weak since their creatures are cheap, disposable, and easily replayed from the graveyard, so bouncing them accomplishes little against this resilient shell.
