Mono-Black is a graveyard-value deck built around Stitcher's Supplier, Bloodghast, Darklight Phoenix recursion, and Priest of Forgotten Gods sacrifice synergies. Fatal Push answers their early creatures (Eyetwitch, Stitcher's Supplier, Dark Matter Manipulator) before they generate value or set up recursion loops. Thoughtseize strips their removal (Annihilating Glare) or key engine pieces like Priest of Forgotten Gods and Fiend Artisan before they take over the game. Torch the Tower's small damage and extra Shrapnel Blast are less impactful since several of their creatures return from the graveyard anyway (Bloodghast, Darklight Phoenix), so proactive hand disruption and efficient removal are better uses of these slots.
