Full English Breakfast is a combo deck that wins by getting Hermit Druid into play with no basic lands, milling the entire library, then assembling a reanimation loop with Volrath's Shapeshifter, Survival of the Fittest, and Phyrexian Devourer to deal lethal damage. Your primary goal is to counter Survival of the Fittest and Hermit Druid before they resolve — Annul is particularly efficient here since both are enchantments or artifacts. Blue Elemental Blast and Hydroblast give you redundant, cheap protection against their green threats including Survival and Birds of Paradise, making their combo much harder to assemble. Standstill is too slow and too risky to leave in play against a deck that can ignore it and go off at instant speed, and Decree of Justice is far too expensive for a matchup where you'll likely win or lose before turn six. Keep Counterspell, Mana Leak, and Swords to Plowshares active — the Plows are relevant if a Hermit Druid, Squee, or Birds resolves and you need to buy time.
