Gro-a-tog's entire game plan runs through a single creature, so Engineered Plague naming Atog is the centerpiece of your post-board configuration — with even one Plague in play, Psychatog enters as a 0/1 and can never threaten a lethal attack regardless of graveyard size. Ravenous Baloth and Blastoderm give you resilient, high-power threats that demand immediate answers; Blastoderm in particular cannot be targeted by Smother or Vendetta and must be answered with a counter or Pernicious Deed. Lead with Duress and Cabal Therapy to clear countermagic before attempting to resolve a Plague or a threat — naming Counterspell or Gush with Therapy is often correct after a Duress reveals their hand. Pernicious Deed remains your safety valve if Psychatog resolves through your disruption, and Genesis provides late-game recursion to keep threats flowing through their counterspell suite.
