Engineered Plague can name Specter to shrink Hypnotic Specter to a 1/1, or Zombie to shrink Graveborn Muse to a 2/2 and Withered Wretch to a 1/1 (and it kills Plaguebearer outright), providing a cheap, durable way to blunt their best threats. Nausea's -1/-1 sweeps away their small creatures like Ravenous Rats and Plaguebearer, and it also kills Nantuko Shade unless they pump it in response. Withered Wretch only shrinks to a 1/1 and Cursed Scroll is not a creature, so neither dies to Nausea alone, but a Plague on Zombie or Specter plus Nausea finishes off Withered Wretch or Hypnotic Specter. Circular Logic and Foil are weaker here since this is a grindy creature matchup where your own Smother and Sickening Dreams are better suited to answer their threats, so trim the counterspells slightly. Keep Duress in since it's already excellent at stripping their removal and discard before they land a ritual-fueled Hypnotic Specter.
