Survival Elves here is actually a green-heavy creature-mana deck backed by red support (Anger, Gempalm-style burn analogues aren't present, but Pyrokinesis and Pyrostatic Pillar punish their swarm of one-mana dorks and Survival engine) rather than a blue tempo deck, so blue-hate cards have no targets and stay in the board. Pyrokinesis comes in as free removal to handle early blockers like Fyndhorn Elves, Llanowar Elves, and Quirion Ranger that would otherwise slow your Goblin Lackey and Goblin Piledriver from connecting. Pyrostatic Pillar punishes their mana-dork-heavy, low-curve draws, pinging them for 2 every time they cast a cheap Elf or cast a low-cost spell like Survival of the Fittest. Tormod's Crypt strips Anger and Squee, Goblin Nabob out of their graveyard, denying free haste and recurring card advantage. Naturalize and Goblin Tinkerer are low-impact since Survival Elves' few artifacts and enchantments aren't worth dedicating slots to answer. Goblin Sharpshooter is cut because it is too slow to deploy against their explosive early turns.
