This is a discard-heavy midrange mirror where the first resolved Hypnotic Specter usually dictates the game's tempo — protect yours and prioritize trading discard spells to keep your opponent off their Dark Ritual openings. Snuff Out is dead in this matchup since every relevant creature is black, making it an easy cut. Powder Keg provides versatile utility: at one counter it answers Cursed Scroll, and at two it can threaten animated Mishra's Factories or clear out small bodies. Tormod's Crypt is a free piece of interaction that removes Cabal Therapy flashback value from either graveyard, which can swing close topdeck races. Ravenous Rats are the weakest threat in the mirror since a 1/1 body is easily blocked or stonewalled by Withered Wretch and Factory, making them the cleanest cuts.
