Red Elemental Blast and Pyroblast counter their blue spells (Counterspell, Circular Logic, Gush, Foil) or destroy blue permanents like Psychatog, giving us a way to push burn through their heavy counterspell suite. They do nothing against black cards like Smother, Duress, or Sickening Dreams, so hold them for blue targets. Sulfuric Vortex is risky since it deals 2 damage to us each upkeep just as it does to them, and Cursed Scroll is clunky since it costs {3} to activate and Duress can take it from our hand. Keep Grim Lavamancer and direct burn to pressure their life total, which Polluted Delta and Underground River already chip away at, before Psychatog comes online, and use the Blasts to protect key burn spells from Counterspell or Circular Logic.
