This is a mirror match where both players are trying to resolve Phyrexian Dreadnought while Stifling the opponent's. The primary win condition shifts slightly toward landing Essence Flare on an opponent's Dreadnought, which will kill it at end of turn and leave them with no creature — a brutal tempo swing that is very difficult to recover from. Daze comes out because both players will be keeping mana up for countermagic, making the 'return Island' drawback much more punishing, and Peek is cut since perfect information matters less than permanent answers. Chain of Vapor provides a flexible answer to an opposing Essence Flare or any other permanent that threatens to lock you out. The game often goes long in the counter war, so prioritize protecting your own Dreadnought resolutions and look for spots to flash in Essence Flare on the opponent's Dreadnought after they've tapped out to Gush.
