Glowrider is a 2/1 that taxes noncreature spells, which hits the heart of their disruption and acceleration: Dark Ritual, Duress, Cabal Therapy, Smother and their edicts all cost one more. That makes it harder for them to Ritual out threats and strip our hand at the same time. It does not slow their creature spells, so Hypnotic Specter and Nantuko Shade still come down at normal cost. The tax is symmetrical and also applies to our own noncreature spells, so be mindful when sequencing. Oath of Druids is risky here since their discard spells (Duress, Cabal Therapy) can strip our hand before we set up an advantage, and Sylvan Library's life payments are dangerous against a deck with reach via Hypnotic Specter and Cursed Scroll. Call of the Herd gives us a resilient body: if they spend Smother or an edict on the Elephant token, we can recast it from the graveyard with flashback, and a spare token also gives us edict fodder. Keep Swords to Plowshares as our best answer to Hypnotic Specter and Nantuko Shade.
