Sylvan Safekeeper is excellent protection against Mono-Red's abundant burn (Lightning Bolt, Incinerate, Seal of Fire) that would otherwise pick off Hermit Druid or a reanimated Phyrexian Dreadnought before it can attack. The extra Shallow Grave adds redundancy to your fast reanimation plan, since racing this deck before Black Vise and burn spells add up is the priority. Duress comes out because Mono-Red's threats are almost entirely on-board permanents or instants cast reactively, making proactive hand disruption less impactful than protecting your own creatures and closing the game quickly.
