UW Control has counterspells, Seam Rip, card draw engines, and heavy removal. Disdainful Stroke counters their expensive card advantage. Wan Shi Tong, Librarian generates card advantage that persists through their interaction. Tishana's Tidebinder disrupts their key triggered abilities. Avatar's Wrath does nothing against a creature-light control deck, Clarion Conqueror is outclassed in a late-game war, Glen Elendra Guardian doesn't generate enough value, and Rest in Peace has nothing to target.
