Dimir Excruciator leans on its graveyard: Superior Spider-Man copies creature cards from graveyards, Overlord of the Balemurk mills four and returns a creature or planeswalker from the graveyard to hand, Uldaros Theorix exiles cards from its graveyard and casts free copies of them, and Seasoned Cryomancer and Winternight Stories get extra value from graveyard abilities. Rest in Peace shuts off a big chunk of that engine. Rest in Peace only affects graveyards and cards that would go to one, so it does nothing against Deceit's enters-the-battlefield effects or Doomsday Excruciator if they bring it in. Smaug comes out because its Treasure value depends on surviving to your upkeep, and Bitter Triumph and Deceit's bounce punish that. One Twinmaw Stormbrood comes out as well, since its six-mana body is slow in a grindy matchup. We keep the other copy for Charring Bite, which can kill their non-flying creatures. Erode stays in as clean removal for Deceit and Superior Spider-Man. The opponent plays a lot of creatures, so a dedicated removal spell is worth keeping. Keep the full 24-land base intact since the matchup is a grind against a removal- and discard-heavy deck that punishes mana screw.
