Duress is excellent against Jeskai Control's removal and finishers, stripping Fire Magic, Flashback, Inevitable Defeat, or Jeskai Revelation before they matter. Annul can counter their Tablet of Discovery, an artifact that ramps them and helps fuel their spells. Wan Shi Tong, Librarian can flash in at instant speed as a flying, vigilant threat sized by X, and it draws us half X cards when it enters, which helps us keep pace in a grindy card-advantage matchup. Shoot the Sheriff struggles to find profitable targets against a control deck with few creatures, so we trim it along with Spell Snare and Azure Beastbinder for more targeted disruption.
