Sultai Control has few early creatures worth Shoot the Sheriff or Nowhere to Run, so those come out in favor of proactive disruption. Duress takes apart their hand before Deadly Cover-Up or Maelstrom Pulse can be deployed against our threats, and Disdainful Stroke answers their own Deadly Cover-Up and other expensive spells. A second Deadly Cover-Up gives us a way to reset the board if they land threats like Quantum Riddler or Wan Shi Tong, Librarian. This is a grindy, resource-attrition matchup, so prioritize disruption over efficient one-for-one removal.
