4c Artifacts floods the board with cheap artifacts like Simulacrum Synthesizer, Candy Trail, and Cryogen Relic, making Vicious Rivalry a great sweeper that can wipe those low-cost permanents for a reasonable life payment (The Mind Stone is indestructible and survives it). Keen-Eyed Curator can grow into a relevant threat by exiling cards from graveyards, and doing so also strips the artifact cards that their craft cards (Clay-Fired Bricks, Spring-Loaded Sawblades) want to exile from the graveyard as a cost. The Ooze is not a creature and won't grow on its own, but it exiles cards from graveyards too and makes Mutagen tokens that can put +1/+1 counters on our creatures. Duress stays in because nearly all of their spells are noncreature, nonland cards it can take, and Demolition Field stays in because so many of their lands (Castle Doom, the Verges, Hallowed Fountain) are nonbasic. The cuts come from our creature-removal suite, since their deck has very few creatures: Day of Black Sun and Deadly Cover-Up are sweepers aimed at a handful of tokens, and Bitter Triumph is a costly spell with few good targets.
