Jeskai Control has almost no early creatures, so Impractical Joke and Spell Snare are mostly dead or marginal against their Tablet of Discovery/Stock Up plan. Disdainful Stroke counters their Jeskai Revelation (MV7) and Deadly Cover-Up (MV5+), while Spell Pierce taxes their cheap value spells like Stock Up and Consult the Star Charts when they're tapped out from land drops. Flashfreeze does nothing against their Jeskai colors here since they aren't casting red or green spells we'd want to counter beyond incidental overlap, so only bring in the single copy as a hedge versus their Fire Magic or Firebending Lesson; prioritize resolving our own threats since they lack hard removal for mana value 6+.
