Selesnya Landfall relies on cheap dorks, landfall creatures, and enchantments like Llanowar Elves, Mightform Harmonizer, and Earthbender Ascension to scale up over time; Slagstorm's 3 damage sweeps their early mana creatures and small bodies while our bigger threats survive. Spell Pierce can stop a crucial Earthbender Ascension, or an Erode aimed at one of our threats, from resolving if they can't pay {2}. Note that it cannot stop Ba Sing Se's earthbend, since that is an activated ability. Spell Snare is narrow against their curve, and Impractical Joke's limited damage underperforms against their bigger late-game threats like Mossborn Hydra. Prioritize disrupting their land-based value engine early before it snowballs out of control.
