Selesnya Landfall leans on Llanowar Elves for acceleration and Earthbender Ascension for incremental value, so Seam Rip can exile the Elves or another early 2-or-less permanent before it snowballs their landfall plan. Curious Farm Animals provides an early blocker that gains 3 life when it dies, fitting our lifegain theme while trading with their small creatures. Starscape Cleric's inability to block is a liability against a deck building a wide, growing board, and Essence Channeler's conditional evasion is less useful than more bodies that can block.
