Jeskai Control runs sweepers (Fire Magic, Deadly Cover-Up), targeted removal (Sear, Firebending Lesson, Shoot the Sheriff, Inevitable Defeat), and discard (Duress). Their sideboard can add countermagic like Negate. Surrak, Elusive Hunter's uncounterable clause lets it dodge any counterspell they bring in, and its card-draw-on-targeting ability pays off every time they spend a targeted removal spell on it. Torpor Orb stays in the sideboard: their key cards (Stock Up, Tablet of Discovery, Jeskai Revelation) are not creatures entering, and Great Hall of the Biblioplex becomes a creature while already on the battlefield, so the Orb does nothing against it. Shared Roots is too slow and doesn't pressure a control deck that wants to go long, so swap it for an efficient, resilient threat.
