Jeskai Control wants to trade one-for-one with sweepers (Day of Judgment) and removal while grinding card advantage through Stock Up and Jeskai Revelation, so flash threats that dodge sorcery-speed wipes are valuable: Kutzil's Flanker and Cathar Commando both come down at instant speed, with Commando doubling as an answer to Tablet of Discovery, their only artifact. Dark Confidant adds card advantage to outpace their card-draw engines since the control deck has few ways to pressure your life total early. Goldmeadow Nomad, Resolute Reinforcements, and Aunt May are small, low-impact bodies that do little against a grindy control deck and fall easily to removal or sweepers, making them the easiest cuts.
