This is a mirror match against another Orzhov-style lifegain deck running nearly identical pieces (Amalia, Haliya, Case of the Uneaten Feast, Lunar Convocation), so the game comes down to who out-values whom on card advantage and removal efficiency. Requiting Hex cleanly answers their Hinterland Sanctifier, Amalia, Starscape Cleric, or Moseo at instant speed while gaining you life to fuel your own engines. Dark Confidant provides raw card advantage to pull ahead in the long grind, which matters more here than in matchups with more reach. Goldmeadow Nomad and Resolute Reinforcements are replaced since the mirror rewards impactful removal and card advantage over small bodies that both decks can easily out-value.
