Jeskai Manufacturing is built almost entirely around artifacts — Cryogen Relic, Legion Extruder, Weapons Manufacturing, Spring-Loaded Sawblades, Pinnacle Starcage — making Annul a premium answer that counters any of those artifact spells outright before they generate value. Duress strips Tezzeret, Cruel Captain or a key enchantment like United Battlefront/Weapons Manufacturing from their hand before it can start snowballing artifact triggers. Spell Snare loses some value since several of their key pieces cost three, and Feed the Cycle's additional cost is clunky against a deck with few creatures worth killing early, so both are trimmed. Keep Deadly Cover-Up and The End available for Tezzeret's emblem-fueled Robot tokens or any large threat that slips through, and prioritize using Annul proactively rather than waiting to see the full artifact chain resolve.
