Rakdos Lizards is a low-curve aggressive deck full of cheap creatures like Hired Claw, Iridescent Vinelasher, and Flamecache Gecko, so efficient removal is at a premium. Requiting Hex answers nearly their entire mainboard at mana value 2 or less, and the lifegain mode helps offset their incremental burn like Burst Lightning and Stingerquill Charm. Duress strips removal or Stingerquill Charm before it can be used against our own threats. We trim the slower mill-value creatures since we need to interact efficiently rather than durdle against this aggressive low-curve deck; Bringer of the Last Gift remains a strong sweeper-adjacent answer to their wide, cheap board.
