Boros Aggro curves out with Momo, Sarkhan, Dragon Ascendant, and big Dragon threats like Magmatic Hellkite and Nova Hellkite, making Day of Judgment a crucial full reset when you fall behind on board. Doorkeeper Thrull blocks their early fliers and denies value from their enter-the-battlefield triggers like Magmatic Hellkite's land destruction setup context and Nova Hellkite's damage ping. Requiting Hex whiffs against their many mana value 4+ Dragons, and Iron-Shield Elf trades unfavorably with their aggressive curve, so both are cut. This plan trades early tempo for a stronger late-game stabilization tool against their go-wide burn finish.
