This is a grindy mirror-ish matchup where both decks fight over free countermagic and card selection, so extra interaction and disruption outvalue clunky tempo plays. Force of Negation lets us fight back on their turn against noncreature spells like Kaito, Bane of Nightmares, Thoughtseize, or Fatal Push without tapping out, though it can't touch their creatures. Consign to Memory stops Bilbo, Thief in the Night triggers and colorless spells like Mishra's Bauble cheaply, while Duress strips their Thoughtseize or countermagic before it matters. Daze is weaker here since they can easily pay {1} to play around it, and Boomerang Basics is too slow against their proactive clock.
