Note we only have 1 Preordain in the mainboard, so this swaps 3 Boomerang Basics and the lone Preordain plus one Boomerang-adjacent slot; adjust: Surgical Extraction rips a copy of Lion's Eye Diamond, Doomsday, or a key piece straight out of their deck and graveyard, disrupting their combo before it starts, while Consign to Memory counters their Doomsday itself since it's a colorless sorcery spell being cast. Boomerang Basics does nothing to stop them from assembling the combo and is too slow. We keep our full Thoughtseize and Force of Will suite since proactive disruption of their hand is the best way to strip Doomsday, Lion's Eye Diamond, or their final draw spell before they go off.
