Eldrazi floods the board with big colorless bodies like Reality Smasher, Thought-Knot Seer, and Eldrazi Linebreaker backed by Chalice of the Void to shut off our cheap spells, so we need bodies and ways around Chalice. Barrowgoyf's deathtouch and lifelink make it a strong blocker against their large creatures, and it keeps growing as cards hit graveyards from combat and fetches. Engineered Explosives can be set to blow up Chalice of the Void itself (at X=0) or a cluster of their X=4 or X=2 threats. Daze is weak since a Chalice set at zero or one often blanks it, and Boomerang Basics doesn't advance our plan against their fast, resilient board.
