Null Rod is excellent here, shutting off Grim Monolith, Giant's Boulder and Lotus Petal, and it also stops The One Ring's and Expedition Map's activations entirely, crippling their mana engine and card selection. Urza's Saga is an enchantment land rather than an artifact, so Null Rod does not stop its Construct-making ability. Thorn of Amethyst taxes their noncreature-heavy plan: Karn, Kozilek's Command, Ugin, Eye of the Storms, The One Ring and their other artifacts all cost one more, while lands like Urza's Saga are not spells and are unaffected, slowing them down. We trim Sire of Seven Deaths and some Eldrazi Linebreaker since this matchup is decided by disruption and speed rather than big bodies, and Chalice of the Void on 1 is devastating against their Ancient Stirrings, Crop Rotation, Expedition Map and Giant's Boulder, while Chalice on 2 catches Grim Monolith and Disruptor Flute.
