Death and Taxes leans on efficient small creatures like Stoneforge Mystic, White Orchid Phantom, and Skyclave Apparition backed by Wasteland disruption, so Barrowgoyf's deathtouch/lifelink makes it a strong blocker that trades up and stabilizes the life total against their aggressive curve. Dismember is efficient removal for their early creatures like Phelia, Exuberant Shepherd or a Stoneforge Mystic before it finds equipment. Giant's Boulder's slow activated removal is outclassed by their cheap, efficient threats, and Cyclonic Rift is a weak one-for-one against a deck that can rebuild with Aether Vial, so we trim one copy for the more impactful Barrowgoyf package. Watch for Wasteland pressuring our Tron lands early.
