Izzet Affinity is another artifact-mana deck leaning on Karn, the Great Creator and The One Ring with Force of Will/Force of Negation backup; Haywire Mite can exile The One Ring or another key noncreature artifact, and Abrade can destroy a Giant's Boulder or similar permanent, or deal with a small creature. Pithing Needle shuts off Karn's -2 ability or The One Ring's draw ability. Since this is a mirror-ish matchup in artifact density, we trim only the most redundant cheap cantrips rather than our core engine, keeping Mox Opal, Urza's Saga, and the Welder/Engineer package intact to race their own Saga plan.
